ANGLING CLUB
Affiliated to the
Oxford and District Anglers Association
Steeple Aston Angling Club is a organisation that has been running since the 1940s, a true senior citizen of the Oxfordshire angling community. Members are proud to turn up and join together with other like-minded individuals, sharing in a beloved hobby and pastime.
The club is as happy and vibrant as ever, with many members of all ages still competing season after season. We pride ourselves on tradition at Steeple Aston AC, but also move with the times to offer a very modern angling club to all those anglers who hold a passion for the sport.
Please see below for more information on the club members, how it works, and how to get in touch if you would like to join us! Tight lines!
Former Eng International Intermediate, Antony's family have fished with the club for decades. He works for the Environment Agency in Bristol

In this position since 2013, Sean is an Editor and Writer by day, but obsessed with fishing all year round. He is also former NFA Junior National Champion
Steeple Aston Angling Club was formed by local men back in 1949, including such stalwarts as T. Barratt, W. Brock, B. Lewis, E. Calver, J. Wadham, J. Smith, E. Townsend, R. Walton any many others. The original membership fee was three shillings - thats fifteen pence today!
Many years later and the club is still going strong, fishing a variety of venues all around Oxfordshire and the surrounding counties. Membership is still extremely competitive with discounts for junior and senior members – that's why we have members from ten to eighty! There have also been several female anglers who fished with the club regularly over the years, so no matter what your age or gender – you are always welcome to come and fish with us.
